Greetings, I'm Josh - a musician, mixing/post-production engineer & producer from Brighton, England.

I'm highly passionate about making all types of music and with over a decade of experience actively engaged in these activities, my output focuses on distinctive, satisfyingly crisp & high-fidelity productions that carve their own space.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, keys, drums), electronic music producer, sound designer and midi programmer, and I've also worked as a mixing & digital post-production engineer.

As a young kid, my earliest musical interests were artists like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and The Prodigy, including various electronic subgenres of Drum 'n Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, IDM & Breakcore.

I'm also influenced by Progressive Rock & Jazz Fusion influences from artists like Pink Floyd, The Mars Volta, The Beatles, King Crimson, UK Metal bands such as Architects and The Mire, Post-Rock bands like Mogwai & Sigur Rós, Alternative / Acoustic artists like Jeff Buckley, Sufjan Stevens & Bon Iver; basically, a big mix of stuff.

Early in my solo career development alongside studying my degree in Sound Design at Ravensbourne University & off the back of one of my loop packs for Samplephonics, I was invited to work as an assistant to mix engineer Chris Allen on releases by artists such as RY X, Vessels, Calibre, and many more artists on labels such as Universal and Sony BMG.

From these experiences, I learnt a lot about how professional music is mixed for distribution across various formats, providing me with a solid foundation of knowledge on producing professional studio-quality music & audio from my personal studio setup.

I'm driven by a desire to get the best-possible quality and achieving an end result that is as close to, if not perfectly arriving at what the artist or client I'm working with envisions -- to that end, my workflow blends a thorough understanding of both sides of the studio glass, in a range of genres and styles.

I'm possibly best-known for establishing my alias and band project Luo in 2012 - our eclectic sound has helped us to support & perform with a diverse range of artists, bands & producers such as Venetian Snares, Battles & Death Grips to Hidden Orchestra, Shigeto, Vels Trio and many others over the project's history.

I've also performed for Wes Banderson; a project dedicated to performing music from various Wes Anderson films. I performed on guitar, keys, glockenspiel, vibraphone & synths /electronics for the first run of Wes Banderson shows, as well as contributed heavily towards creating the live technical setup for the band using Ableton for this show.

Most recently in 2024, I completed a triple-album project 'Cactuar Collections', dedicated to recreating music by Nobuo Uematsu from the Playstation 1 games Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy IX.

I also have experience as a music technician maintaining & conducting repairs on a range of common instruments including electric & acoustic guitars, electric basses, keyboards & USB MIDI controllers, drumkits, as well as sound engineering for live music events.
